Blue Moon Over California

If you haven’t noticed yet, Blue Moon Pizza opened another store next to Satellite on the corner of California and Sierra. You can read the review in the RGJ. From what I hear, this location is as good at the original and its a lot easier for the minx to walk to in her non-sensible shoes. Looks like the California area of downtown might be shaping up to meet expectations. The Chocolate Bar, Blue Moon, The Blue Plate, Deux Gros Nez, The Cheese Board and Wine Seller, High Societea–did I miss anything? What are your favorites in this part of town? The minx loves The Blue Plate on Greek night (Fridays) and the Chocolate Bar is swell enough. One of the best desserts in town, the Cookie Bomb, can be had at Deuz Gros Nez.

Don’t forget the muffin shop and Peg’s right off of California on Sierra. I live quite close to California and love the way it is growing.

Oh yeah, how could I forget Peg’s. I’m there all the time.

I was delighted to find out that the Chocolate Bar now has a brie plate so you don’t have to leave with a sugar rush. An afternoon lunch or early dinner with a friend is one of my favorite things to do at the Blue Plate. And their Friday Greek Night in the summer time is a must attend - try to get a seat on the patio if you can. And, of course an early morning coffee at the Deux or a late night pint of Icky!

Cafe Musee at the Nevada Museum of Art is really tasty, too. I would expect nothing less as they are operated by Cheeseboard.

I’ve heard rumors of a tapas restaurant to appear above Satellite and Blue Moon. Anyone else heard any chatter?

That would be awesome…I love tapas, especially with big groups of people. So much fun.
