TASC Petition Typo Could Mean More Spending
Ironic to say the least…..the TASC petition (Tax and Spending Control for Nevada) being circulated for signatures differs from the one submitted to the Secretary of State. According to Anjeanette Damon:
The problem is with the date on which the spending cap would be based. The official version says the state would calculate the cap based on inflation and population growth between Jan. 1, 2007 and Jan. 1, 2009. The version circulated on the street and turned in to the Washoe County and Clark County voter registrars says the cap would be based on inflation and population growth between Jan. 1, 2005 to Jan. 1, 2009. Nevadans for Nevada said they have an analysis that shows that would give the state $1.3 billion more to spend.
Wah ha ha ha, what we tax and spenders could do with $1.3 billion dollars!

Man, that’s just stupid. It seems as if these petition drives are always run by fools who might have an idea that will stick, but can’t figure out how to follow the rules with any sort of consistency. Sad, really.
