Flava of the week: BetaBand
Okay ya’ll, here’s one most of ya’ll probably haven’t heard. They are infact my all time favorite. They satisfy your craving for whateva it is you wanna taste, hip-hop, house, trance, rock, you name it!! They’re tasty!! I ran up on this group a few years ago and haven’t been able to let them go. Unfortunatly for us hard core heads they are no longer together. Have no tears though!!! There are pleanty of jucy tracks to sip on. If your into the music video stuff they have awesome video albums out also–pretty damn out of the ordinary dawgs! In the mean time check out my personal fav. tracks : “Cows Gone Wrong” and “It’s Not to Beautiful” on their 1999 album, Astralworks: Beta Band Besides their awesome out their music take a tour through their totally out their site listen to some tunes and play w/ the space man. Promise you’ll dig it! Happy late 4th Homies. Keep it real and rockin……..I’m out….

I’ve seen these guys three times, all in Colorado. At one concert (Boulder), they were in the middle of a song, stopped, and all switched instruments and finished the song. I love their cd’s, it’s a shame they broke up.

On a completely unrelated topic. Talib Kweli is coming to Stoney’s, I think it is July 22nd. I heard that at least Del the Funky Homosapien will be there, as well as rumors of the entire Hieroglyphics crew showing up. I saw Hiero in South Lake a while back, amazing show. THe only problem is Stoney’s sucks, beer is expensive there, and it’s 18 and over.
Where is Stoney’s?
Stoney’s is on Wells Ave. It’s between Mill St. and Second St. on the west side of Wells. It’s a brick building, easy to miss.
Sorry to post another show but August 19th at the Truckee Ampitheatre, Galactic will be playing. Probably one of the coolest bands to see live, and the Ampitheatre is the best place in the area to see a show.

Oh man! Dave Alvin & The Guilty Men w/special guest James McMurtry are at Hawkins Amphitheater on August 19th. I’m torn. Who to see, who to see?
