Reno And Beyond: Cocktails All Around
- The Neverender Boutique & Gallery is moving to the former home of the Fireplace Gallery, which after a brave effort, is closing its doors. The Neverender will open at the new location on September 20th. Please following them to 518 West Second St. at Ralston.
- Did you know someone was running against Bob Cashell for mayor? There is, its local artist and cartoonist Erik Holland who is using his campaign to highlight the dangers of growth.
- Youth Voice Inc. says no minority, uh, I mean minor-party candidates in the first gubernatorial debate scheduled for September 26th at Nightingale Hall in the Church Fine Arts building at UNR. Its too late to accomodate’s Gibbon’s request to mitigate self-injury.
- I’m a little envious of Gibbons’ new nickname, “cocktail candidate.” I’ve been walking around town for years with a full martini glass just so that someone might start calling me the “cocktail minx.” Guess what you get when you google “cocktail titus gibbons?” Why can’t we be first, what more could I possibly aspire to? Maybe this post will do it!
- One thing is becoming clear. Sparks has “growth issues.” This time its with Washoe County’s decision to build a 55 bed hospital in Spanish Springs becaue the County did not do any planning studies. By the way, I found out Washoe Health System is going to build an additional tower on their current project in Reno. Developers do that to keep actual building costs a secret.
- No death penalty in the Mack case. Charla’s mother agrees its the right choice. I won’t link to the sordid article about the deterioration of the their marriage. Duh.
- The billion dollar car! No lie, that’s how much research is behind it, at least that’s what the reporter on BBC American News said last night.
- The adorably obscene Rude Pundit suggests a new Democratic campaign slogan: “Don’t let Osama Bin Laden tell you how to vote.”
- The D.C. Park Police killed Joe’s dog Princess while she chased squirrels in Dupont Circle. Observers wept and the Joe layed down near Princess’ body and sobbed until she was picked up by the Humane Society.
- “How do I save my family from this … snow?” Kenyans learn about coming to the U.S.
- Chaffey wins. Bad for Democrats and bad for Republicans. They just don’t know it yet. Spitzer and Clinton also win.
- And is Bush supposed to be Jonathan Edwards in this scenario? Ew.
- Phil Angelides campaign leaked the Arnold Schwarzenegger “hot latina” tapes. Its being investigated.
