DELIVERED VIA FAX AND EMAIL

Dear Marty,

A month ago, the Nevada Democratic Party entered into a good faith agreement with FOX News to co-sponsor a presidential debate in August.

This was done because the Nevada Democratic Party is reaching out to new voters and we strongly believe that a Democrat will not win Nevada unless we find new ways to talk to new people.

To say the least, this was not a popular decision. But it is one that the Democratic Party stood by. However, comments made last night by FOX News President Roger Ailes in reference to one of our presidential candidates went too far. We cannot, as good Democrats, put our party in a position to defend such comments.

In light of his comments, we have concluded that it is not possible to hold a Presidential debate that will focus on our candidates and are therefore canceling our August debate. We take no pleasure in this, but it is the only course of action.

Sincerely

Tom Collins Harry Reid

Chairman, Nevada State Democratic Party U.S. Senator (D-NV)

Ah, those two slick guys are just in time! Did you know that Richardson just pulled out of the FAUX deal?

LAS VEGAS (AP) - New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson on Friday backed out of an August presidential debate hosted by the Nevada Democratic Party, the Western Majority Project and Fox News Channel, his campaign said.

Richardson was the only presidential candidate to have confirmed his attendance at the debate, which has been the target of an online protest from activists and bloggers opposed to the partnership with a network they believe is biased.

Richardson made the announcement on the liberal blog dailykos.com. His Nevada campaign spokesman Josh McNeil confirmed the governor would not attend, but would not comment further.

Former vice presidential nominee John Edwards said Wednesday he would not participate in the Aug. 14 event in Reno, citing Fox as one of the concerns.

Collins’ proposal to add “a progressive voice” to the panel of moderators and offer other ways of viewing the debate was rejected by MoveOn.org

Discussions continued Friday afternoon, even as MoveOn.org and other Web sites declared the debate dead. Collins said the reports were untrue.

“No, we’re not canceling, I am not canceling. We’re not dropping Fox,” he told The Associated Press.

Scary what a little dictator Collins is, just like those 6 or was it 7 County Dem Party Chairs statewide who gave Collins “letters of support” for the Faux flush.

Time to flush them all.

Only 22 days until the next NSDP elections on March 31st in Reno, NV - I do hope all of you will show up and express your disdain and dissent at the way our Executive Board and State Central Committe has been disrespected and how some on those two bodies have disrespected the common, every day Nevada Democrats they are supposed to represent!

And I hope you express your outrage at the fact that nearly 500 people should be members of the State Central Committee and empowered to vote - and that only about 150 or so will be granted the privelage to vote for our next slate of NSDP State Officers!

It’s time to disenfranchize the D.I.N.O.’s and take back our party!

“Of the people, for the people and by the people!”

KUDOS to the Carson City Democrats for demonstrating courage under fire from on high - GOOD JOB ALL!

Johnathan, do you know who the 6-7 statewide county Dem Party Chairs are who did letters of support for the Faux thing? From what I was told, this did not include a vote of their executive committees or their people. It’s this type of “token” power that I am sick of with this party in this state.

I am oh so happy.

It really feels like we won.

“I am oh so happy.

It really feels like we won. ”

Enjoy it while you can.

I can’t support a “purge”.

My candidate is Barack Obama. I am in step with the spirit and letter of his primary message.
(As I was with my previous candidate, Evan Bayh.)

Me neither….its time to pull together now and make sure nothing like this happens again. I think the state party will actually come out stronger because of this, not less so. The only thing that’s disappointing is that they have to cancel the debate altogether or so they say. I heard that NBC was interested but perhaps legal contract concerns prevent finding another carrier?

We are working on the lists and trying to corroberate everyone’s current position, title, and contact informtion - so, since the NSDP Chair (Tom Collins) and some County Chairs (like Liz Foley in Clark) have NOT done their due diligence and duty - we have to do the work for ALL of us!

These lists will be used for informations purposes ONLY - we are not attempting a “purge” or “cleansing” of the party in any way shape or form - every registered Nevada Democrat should be welcome at any Democratic event or meeting…but, running for a leadership or key position (like chairing a committee) is another matter all together - and we all have a legitmate right and need to know who supports what philosophy, who voted for what action (or against it), etcettera…

…give us some time please - you should all have it soon (depending on how long it takes to sort out all of the unnecessary confusion) - hopefully in a couple of day, or so!

That caucus is sure going to take
a lot of manpower, which the Washoe
County party seems to be addressing quite well. They have a strong neighbor to neighbor volunteer system (organized by assembly districts) and seem to be
drawing in people all the time to help out with creating polling places, etc.

This type of grassroots organizing
(which developed with great strength under the leadership of
Brian Hutchinson in the last election cycle) is our way of keeping it together. We get to know each other, and our party leaders, pretty well. Which should
help us keep it on a positive plane.

So who is Johnathan L. Abbinett?

Politically, he started out as a “JFK Democrat” and remained loyal through the Carter administration. Disillusioned with the radical left wing of the Democratic Party, he switched and became a “Reagan Republican” when he went into business. However, as a moderate, he became very disillusioned with the disturbing rise of the radical right wing zealots and left the Republican party and became a New Democrat in 2004. In 2006, he didn’t get his way in the Democratic Party of Nevada, so he left and registered as an independent. During these months as an independent, he has been on a public jihad to embarrass and shame the party. In 2007, he declared his candidacy for Nevada Democratic Party Second Vice Chair, the same day he switched his voter registration back to Democrat.

Do we really want to elect someone that switches parties more than the average household switches the toilet paper roll.

Central Committee Members…make this strike three and vote for “Anybody but Abbinett.”

Abbinett’s history doesn’t bother me. It’s not unusual at all, given
the movements many others like him have made since 1980 (like being Reagan Democrats).

Dissidents are a necessity in any outfit.

“These lists will be used for informations purposes ONLY - we are not attempting a “purge” or “cleansing” of the party in any way shape or form”

Wow.

So, who is “Anybody but Abbinett” the “AnonyMOUSE” commenter - and, is this person related, in any way to the infamous Jack Shitt family?

And why has a uncivil, rude, mean, nasty, smear campaign been launched against any person for simply exercising their right to register to vote and filing to run for the office of NSDP 2nd Vice Chair? It’s not like this is some key position of great power?

Because, Dear Discontents, there are those that are attempting to “cleanse” and “purge” the party of every voice of Dissent - and I, for one, believe dissent is the highest form of patriotism!

The statement, “…he didn’t get his way in the Nevada Democratic Party so he left..s” is a LIE! I left the NSDP because, people were being treated so rudely and their civil liberties and rights were being violated. Thus, as an Independent I would be totally free to public expose the dictatorship of NSDP Chair Tom Collns and Clark County Chair Liz Foley’s monarchy.

The statement, “…as an independent, he has been on a public jihad to embarass and shame the party” is a total LIE! I do not participate in religious crusades especially within political parties as I believe in a total seperation of church and state issues. I have been only publicly exposing the dictatorship of, now, out-going NSDP Chairman Tom Collins, who seems to have no shame?

People that know me, also know I love to party in the party - but, I don’t suffer misbehaving fools, nor totalitarian tools very patiently!

Finally, after an exhaustive effort, our research team has determined that “Anybody but Abbinett” does NOT, in fact, even know Jack Shitt! But, he may be realted to the Baloney family?

I started out as a “JFK Demcrat” and now I have returned as a “James Webb Democrat” - I am just one of the “Nevada Fighting Dems” and we are a growing force and voice of the people within the NSDP! Hope to see all you dear readers at the NSDP Elections on March 31st in Reno!

Be free, think free, vote free - and let’s party! Sing it with me folks, “Change, Change, CHAAAANGE, yeah baby, let’s CHAAANGE the Fools, I say, yeah…Change, Change, CHAAAANGE, they be but Stools, oh yeah, Change, Change CHAAANGE…we’re tired of Tools…”

Oh, how I love them blues! And our D.J. is a little lady that loves to let us mix it up - ladies and gentlemen, the brilliant, the beautiful, the tantalizing, the messmerizingly magic - Myrna the Minx backed up by her Dissenting Discontents! Let’s give them a round of applause shall we?

Now sing along with me…all together now…”Change, Change, CHAAANNNGE, let’s change these Fools…”

Hi JLA,

Remember when you suggested I pick up a book so I could learn my way around blogs? I think it was called something like “Blogging for Dummies” or close to that. It’s in the other room and I don’t want to get up to go get it. By hte way, as you may be able to tell from that last sentence, I got the book! It’s awesome! Thanks so much!

I wanted to pass along something I read very early in the book for all Discontents readers. They have a list of rules as chapter names. The title of chapter 1:

Get a blog.

I think that about covers it.

Come on Jerz, haven’t you read his bio? The guy’s working on three books simultaneously and authoring “noted” opinion articles that don’t seem to ever show up. How could he have time to do a blog?

The guy is a true renaissance man.

What do Eric O and Johnathan A have in common?

1. They’ve both been scorned by their party establishment.
2. They both vent about it on the internet (although Eric uses complete sentences and can focus on a single point)
3. They both have facial hair (except Jonathan’s isn’t penciled on with his mother’s eye brow pencil)
4. They both have enough hot air to make Gibbons forgo the coal burning idea. Thus, their rants can fuel the entire county of Elko.

Therefore, be it resolved, that these two, in a non-broke-back relationship, form their own party…the “Conservaliberalibertarian Whyisn’t Anybody Listening To Me” party. Jerz and Texex can serve as their communication directors. Finally, a third party I can support…or the reason we should be funding mental health professionals in our great state.

“More Hot Air” what a freudian slip you made when you selected that “handle” for YOURSELF! Oh, God, I’m ROTFLMAO!

Oh, Gee, what am I ever going to do, another “AnonyMOUSE” coward who doesn’t love me and probably wouldn’t vote for me (even if he could be on the oh so high NSDP State Central Committee)?
