Ensign Continues Outrage Over Bogden Firing
“A good leader does not just fire someone for no good reason.” Gonzales and the administration are trying to use Kyle Sampson as the scapegoat–its clear from Gonzales’ press conference (going on right now). What do you bet that when Sampson is called to testify that he will say that Gonzales had no idea of what he and Harriet Myers were up to. Right.

You should be reading TPMmuckraker everyday for the best coverage of the U.S. Attorney purge. I heard Jonathon Turley on Olbermann last night say that the fact that Rove was involved was inappropriate and that Gonzales has forgotten he is the nation’s lawyer, not the presidents. This administration has been working diligently behind the scenes (sort of), using the Patriot Act as cover, to undermine our entire system of law and order. Its truly amazing. Not only should Gonzales resign, if they can show that Bush gave instructions, impeachment proceedings should begin. Their contempt for the U.S. Constitution is unbelievable.

It would seem that AG is at least guilt of perjury to Congress. That is if he was under oath when he testified in January. But it seems the case is still being built.
Noticably lacking today was AG’s usual smugness. He looked scared for the first time.
