AFL-CIO Presidential Forum in Chicago
Is Hillary Clinton smart or what? Not only did she unveil the perfect middle class issue today by raising the specter of increasing home foreclosures and excoriating the mortgage industry for its greedy practices during a speech in Derry, New Hampshire today, Clinton then went on to turn the ideas of the “vast right wing conspiracy” and her lack of “electability” back on themselves during tonight’s debate (see the video below). Seriously brilliant. She also endeared herself to many be using the phrase “I’m your girl,” particularly those who feel threatened by her gender and assertiveness. Clinton is making it harder and harder for people to label her unelectable.
Clinton’s foreclosure issue is going to play really well in Nevada thanks to the fact that Nevada has the highest rate of foreclosure in the nation. And her press release on the subject leaves no question that Clinton is going to hammer away at the issue again and again during her swing through Nevada, promoting her plan: Protecting the Dream of Home Ownership. Does the phrase “Its the economy stupid” ring any bells?
Edwards did well too, but considering that the forum was in front of a labor crowd, he should’ve done better. Obama handled the attacks from the other candidates well. I think its safe to say that based on the number of attacks they faced tonight, everyone considers Clinton and Obama the front runners even though Edwards is right up there in the polling.
Man am I bumming that I can’t attend Clinton’s appearance at the Pahrump skating rink. I love disco balls. How on earth could anyone concentrate on her conversation with rural Nevadans with all that flash and sparkle going on around them?

She’s not my girl. What is wrong with America that we have to keep recycling family members to run our lives?
Also, a friend of mine pointed out that Hillary almost verbatim stated something tonight that John Edwards first said. He has stated in the past that if a Katrina occurred on his watch as president, he would have someone posted to call him daily with updates as to the status there. What came out of Hillary’s mouth tonight? A freaking rerun. I am not impressed. She is an actress at this point.
