Nevada Media Providers and Political Influence

Media Tracker, a searchable database (by state and zipcode) provided by Well Connected, a project of The Center For Public Integrity (there’s a concept), allows you to find out how your local media providers might be influencing public policy, not to mention the filter through which news is covered. Thanks to MyDD for finding this. Here’s what I found for the companies doing business in Reno (Well Connected only tracks the top 48 media providers so its still somewhat limited):

In Las Vegas, 85% of the Beasley Broadcast Group’s political contributions go to Republicans and Clear Channel sends almost 70% of its political contributions to Republicans.

Contributions do not provide conclusive evidence of political bias in content, however, they do indicate that political bias is at least a possibility on news and talk radio stations. Draw your own conclusions.

Well, at least we know who’s backing the losers.

Yeah, wonder how much harder they will have to work for their creeps?
