Downtown Updates from Downtown Makeover

Downtown Makeover Dude alerts us to the fact that Reno’s downtown library is up for a renovation. I hope they don’t touch those awesome Brady Bunch stairs that run through the middle of that building. That would be a crime. There just aren’t that many places where those death trap stairs still exist.

DMD has also added a souped up photo gallery of Reno’s downtown divided by district. Although I’m not ready to call Cal Ave a shopping “mecca,” that area has evolved into a shopping district downtown Reno can at least claim as a “district.” Its amazing how quickly you can have a nice meal at the Blue Plate, window shop for shoes and jewelry, and then toss back a few pints at Ceol Irish Pub. And how many times can a retail space change its location and remain successful? I guess La Bussola has done it at least three if not four times now?
