2008 Reno River Festival Website Is Up

Reno River dude Jim Litchfield alerted me to the new Reno River Festival website published by the new promoters, Reno River Festival LLC. They are going to add a couple of new events this year including Street Rapids, which sounds like a hair-raising bike race, and a mud-filled fun run they are calling Run Amuck:

Get muddy in the River Festival’s first-ever mad mud dash. Join hundreds of grimy competitors who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands (and arms and legs and just about everything else) dirty. Go head-to-head on the X-mile course of muddy, slushy grossness. It’s going to be one big sludge fest in the middle of downtown Reno—but you better bring some attitude, because rules are minimal and there isn’t much about this competition that’s likely to be clean.

Count me in if mancake Jay Kinkaid can pull himself away from his Team Reno training long enough to run.

The other good news is that they expect to expand the footprint of the event north on Arlington to Second Street which should help out some of the local vendors like Se7en Tea House, The Imperial Bar and Lounge, and the other surrounding shops.

Love the mudfest event - it’s a very popular event in other towns…and the fact that they are expanding the venue is pretty encouraging for our favorite little spots…Everybody sign up to do the mud!

Gotta a love a site with pages and pages of “check back soon!”

It is up petty early–be patient.

“Street Rapids”? Oh, just admit it for what it is…….

EXTREME BED RACING!
