Edwards Could Endorse Hillary Clinton: SEIU to Endorse Obama

I’ve been saying for a while now that I wouldn’t be surprised if Edwards chose to endorse Clinton because of her health care plan, or really, because of his dislike of Obama’s health care plan, but now that ABC News is reporting it, its actually news:

But notwithstanding his often caustic criticism of Clinton, on a series of high-profile issues — most notably health care and energy policy — Edwards stands closer to Clinton, D-N.Y., than to Obama, D-Ill. Clinton has taken care to mention the similarities between her health care plan and Edwards’ on the trail in recent days.

Another veteran member of Edwards’ inner circle said the former candidate is approaching the possibility of an endorsement with a fresh mind. In reexamining both candidates, the former aide said, he is attracted not only to Clinton’s policy portfolio, but also to her long track record as first lady and as a senator.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Edwards endorsed Obama or chose not to endorse either Clinton or Obama.

Speaking of endorsements, Politico is reporting that the SEIU will endorse Obama:

Gee …John Edwards …we hardly knew ye.

…walking away, wiping off hands …shaking the dirt off.

He hasnt committed to anything–in fact, ju;st heard that Gore, Pelosi, Dodd, and Edwards among others may have agreed not to endorse anyone and wait for convention to make sure popular vote wins as opposed to “super delegates”
