Clinton Losing Credibility over Delegate Fights
All the unseemly arguing and maneuvering over delegates and super delegates by the Clinton campaign will destroy her candidacy–its clear to me that’s helping Obama cut into Clinton’s base voters. I wish that some pollster would ask about it. I am eager to see the CNN debate on Thursday to see how Clinton addresses the questions that are sure to come up regarding the issue. On a somewhat related issue, the Clinton campaign is showing a embarrassing lack of preparation in some very important primary states–Texas and Pennsylvania. The delegate issue and the lack of preparation in Texas and Pennsylvania combined are creating a very steep climb for the Clinton campaign.
On another somewhat related issue, James Wolcott has been writing some really wonderful stuff on how our culture, sexism, and Hillary Clinton intersect. If you don’t understand and want to, and you’d rather hear it from a man because its more credible somehow, check out of his recent posts.

She lost more then then her respect today. Ouch.
I don’t disagree that Hillary Clinton is fighting against misogyny, or at least latent misogyny, as much as she’s fighting Obama. In my view, the lesson should be that thousands of female politicians around this country, and one in particular in Northern Nevada, are laboring under that same misogyny, but without the brand name “Hillary” to shield them.
The retail comparisons would be to Obama’s roots in Muslim tradition (a broad segment of the population seriously thinks he’s a terrorist), or even to McCain’s legislative past (many conservatives publicly call him a traitor for daring to work with Ted Kennedy on immigration reform). I believe the more appropriate comparison should be Gov. Gibbons.
Yes, he’s been accused of criminally delinquent behavior (so has Hillary), but it’s also acceptable to call him stupid with no consequences. There are many things to dislike about Gibbons’ politics and his style of government, and I wouldn’t vote for him with two eyes closed and a clothespin over my nose, but insulting his intelligence is no better than calling Hillary Clinton a bitch.
Well …my hunney is a white male middle school teacher. I don’t think that makes him blue collar or not but he dislikes Hillary Clinton and her famous husband, Bill, for the same reasons that I do: their entitled and condescending attitudes. It has to do with the color of their character.
disagree about your Gibbons point. He has shown an inability to govern this state with any effectiveness so that gives people reason to question his intellectual abilities. I dont think there is overwhelming evidence that Clinton is a “bitch.” If you ask me, McCain’s temperment seems a lot bitchier than Clinton’s.
So inability to govern a state equals dumb? If that’s true, imagine what it makes you if you can’t even use “its” and “it’s” correctly.
touche. you should cut and past that bit about my manner of flouting contractions and punctuation on the other 1500 posts where its the case on this site. Lots of links for you. See writing rules for bloggers #8 and #11:

I’d like to take this opportunity to encourage Obama
supporters who attended their caucuses this past month to register as alternate delegates (if you weren’t chosen to be a delegate then) and attend the county convention this coming Saturday (the 23rd) at the Reno Events Center.
Register online at http://www.washoedems.org
Or, you can do so between 7am to 9am Saturday at the site.
(Do so early as possible; getting on the floor early makes it more likely you will be able to fill in any delegate openings, no matter the precinct! I think they certify delegates at 9:30am)
