Obama “A More Perfect Union” Speech in Philadelphia
Obama’s speech today truly was the “A More Perfect Union” speech. The most compelling reaction to Obama’s speech on America and race today comes from Henry on Crooked Timber:
“I’ve been thinking most of today about Barack Obama’s speech on race and American society; while we’ve tried to avoid too much horserace type commentary here in the last couple of months, I don’t think that this fits well under horse race politics. Before the speech, if you’d asked me which candidate I’d support if I could vote, I’d have said Obama. After the speech, it’s quite different.
I’ve lived in the US for the last four years as a permanent resident, and been quite happy here. Hearing Obama speak made me feel for the first time that I genuinely want to become a citizen of this country and a part of the larger project that he talked about, regardless of specific disagreements I might have. You hear a lot of guff in politicians’ speeches about how great America is; Obama seemed to me to be challenging America to be great, which is a very different and much riskier thing, as well as something I find much more compelling and attractive.” (emphasis mine)

I watched it yesterday morning. And, afterwards, realized it was a “forever” moment. One never to be forgotten.
We are so damn lucky this person has stepped up to the plate.
It’s never gotten this real (in politics) in my 57 years on
this planet.
I feel we deserve the information other people know. I feel Big Media along with Senator Obama, Senator McCain and Dick Cheney should talk about their plans for 29 Nuclear Plants and not keep it quiet from the voting public.

McCain, Obama and Cheney along with Big Media have many secrets they are keeping from the American Public.
All news sources should be called out and they should account for their actions!
Cheney, Obama, McCain, they have big EXPENSIVE PLANS for all of us.
The costs, we’ll pay for them, and uh, oh yea, we will scream about the Recession the whole time we do it.
Let’s educate ourselves about the Nuclear Power Plants already in the works by Obama, McCain, and their good buddy Dick Cheney.
Does President Jimmy Carter and Al Gore want to go back in time to Nuclear Waste, to Cancer in children who live near these power plants? Go back in time to handicapped children being born near these Nuclear Power Plants?
I know one thing for sure, the BIG MEDIA on our televisions do want this, because of WHO PAYS THEIR BIG SALARIES!
No wonder the star of “Silkwood”, Cher supports Senator Clinton.
What happen to windmills? Wind is too cheap to use for Cheney, Obama, and McCain I suppose they need a great money making scheme, even during a Recession.
How many of the 29 will be built in Texas, since Cheney is behind it all?
The Harvard Crowd have as much common sense as a piss ant if they believe that 29 Nuclear Power Plants are going to help us.
Everyone may have a different opinion then I have, but they should at least know the truth, and Big Media, Obama, McCain, they have so many secrets about the new plans for Nuclear Power Plants across America.
