Does Sparks Assembly Candidate Trent Baldwin Live in Sparks?

It seems that there is some disagreement over whether or not Trent Baldwin, a Republican recruited by Ty Cobb to run against Assemblywoman Debbie Smith, lives in the district he is running to represent. Anjeanette Damon reported this afternoon the Debbie Smith filed an affidavit with the Washoe County Voter Registrar contesting Baldwin’s residency:

Instead, she says he’s rented a $300 a month room while his family continues to live in their Reno home. Baldwin, who was recruited by Assemblyman Ty Cobb, contends a deal on a home he was trying to buy in the district fell through earlier this year and he has rented the room until the deal on another house goes through.

Pretending you live somewhere other than where you really do in a small area like Reno/Sparks. It’s kind of like trying to have an affair with your neighbor without anyone finding out–especially the media.

what is the law on this anyway? is that legit?

Didn’t Judy Pruitt(Herman) get popped for trying to pull something like this a few years back?

I smell desperation!

I’m voting for Baldwin. Sure the guy had some misfortune in a home falling through that he planned to buy in the district/area…you can’t blame him for that. Could he have planned things out better? Sure. Will he lose my vote because of it? No. The reality of the politics out here in AD30 is that the imcumbent Assemblywoman Debbie Smith is a clown and has done little to nothing to help our community. Baldwin’s resume shows that this guy has some class and has been heavily involved in the community and in giving back to the community. I tip my hat to folks like him not clowns like Zeke who just grip and complain about everything that doesn’t go his way.
