Derby’s Campaign Receives Boost from Cook Report
The Dean Heller/Jill Derby C2 race just got a lot more interesting. The Cook Report has upgraded it from Solid Republican to Likely Republican.
Ratings Changes in Nearly 30 Districts

House Editor David Wasserman releases the latest batch of race rating changes. While it’s not likely that a majority of the races moved from “Solid” to “Likely” Republican will become competitive by November, the poor national climate for the GOP and the DCCC’s unprecedented financial edge makes even very difficult districts for Democrats worth keeping tabs on. And be sure to look for district-by-district updates in this month’s competitive race rundowns.

[...] looks good enough to have been upgraded from Solid Republican to Likely Republican in the latest Cook Report. Obama isn’t looking all that bad in the presidential election [...]

I wish Jill Derby happy trails on the campaign, giving
her voice heartily to where her District and Nation can
go. Messaging is going to be extremely important and really is her only chance to pull it off, if done in a way where she abandons any self-consciousness and self-concern with how she’s doing in the race. Since it’s an extreme long shot, if she goes out their boldly, runs vigorously in alignment (for the most part) with Obama’s proposed agenda related to Energy and the Economy, then she may actually pull out a victory.
I forgot to add that the Derby campaign is doing
a kick off canvassing effort on July 12th, location/time
to be determined. http://www.jillderby.com
Canvassing at first typically focuses on identifying
who the supporters are, but also—with the undecideds—involves persuasion.
