Vanity Search Alert
Most of the time it’s horrifying to do a vanity search, but today I got a nice surprise. One of my favorite literature professors at California State University at San Bernardino, Phil Page, name checked me in the Acknowledgments section of his book Reclaiming Community in Contemporary African American Literature.
“Another former student, Tracy Viselli, helped clarify my thoughts about Gloria Naylor’s fiction.”
Nice, huh? That’s right, at one point in my life I was an aspiring literature professor and Gloria Naylor and Toni Morrison were and still are two of my truest loves. Read Morrison’s Nobel lecture on language and racism–some of the best stuff there is. And if you’re looking for a great book that will blow your mind, check out Naylor’s Bailey’s Cafe.

Hooray! Definitely among my favorite authors!
its not a Vanity Search. At the university there was a lecture by Dr. Judy Strauss about maintaining your online presence and being radically transparent online and doing frequent Google searches is just part of letting the world know the true you.
