Your first post will stay in draft form until approved, but after that, the sky’s the limit. Please try and keep this site Renocentric. Only Myrna the Minx gets to deviate at will because she’s the boss.

Reno and Its Discontents’ mission is to become a community resource. Aspiring bloggers and writers can help us build it by writing about and contributing to Reno’s urban transformation by publishing event and concert reviews, perspectives on popular culture, local, state, and national news, and other items of local interest.
Our readership has tripled in 2007 and is expected to continue to grow at a steady rate. Its the top rated blog in Northern Nevada according to our dear friends at Technorati. Heck, the Las Vegas Gleaner recently referred to the minx as the “hottest woman in Nevada blogging,” or was it the sluttiest? Oh well, who cares about that? Who wouldn’t want to jump on this train?
Anyone can publish as long as they follow the house rules. But we are looking for regular contributors to write whenever they feel like it, but more or less on a regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly or even daily) for a growing regional audience. Just incorporate us into your daily life. Attend a great concert? Write up a review. Get pulled over for speeding and Reno’s finest wouldn’t let you off even though you took your clothes off for them? Blog all about it. You will become part of a satisfying blog community and the mayor will give you a key to the city. Okay, that’s a lie, but you can easily become a local “merchant of cool,” or at least a legend in your own mind with a growing audience to abuse. Shucks, even the local paper likes us sometimes. The blog does lean to the left, but we’re open to any pitch for a regular contribution if its reasonably well thought out and written and fits into the mission of Discontents. We are particularly looking for contributors with web development skills (CSS, XHTML, PHP, etc.). The minx could use a little help getting up to snuff as far as valid XHTML and perhaps doing some fancy things with event feeds.
Come on, don’t be shy. Get your discontent on!
